Highfield Ely Academy shortlisted for national SEND Award
We are delighted to have been shortlisted as a finalist in the SEND Excellence Award category of the 2026 School And Trust Leadership Awards.
Highfield Ely is recognised for its exceptional commitment to the education of our pupils and students from the ages of 2 to 19 with complex special education needs and disabilities (SEND).
The nomination recognises our excellent SEND provision, putting the needs of our children and young people at the heart of everything the school does and making sure that everything is available to everyone.
Our success in providing a positive learning environment is shown in our attendance data this year which, to date, stands at 92.7% compared to a national average for special schools of 87.1%. There have been no permanent exclusions in the past 3 years.
We will find out the overall winners at a national awards ceremony in Milton Keynes in June.
The awards are hosted by nEdEx is a national network supporting senior leaders in schools, trusts and local authorities. Alongside education awards, nEdEx runs conferences, networking events and leadership forums across the education sector.
