It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Highfield School’s website.

Highfield is a vibrant learning community which enjoys a very good reputation in Cambridgeshire. We strive to constantly develop provision for our learners by working collaboratively with other professionals and parents in developing flexible programmes of learning. We aim to prepare our pupils well for the next step whether that is within our school or in preparation for adult life.  Our school is committed to safeguarding our pupils.

Highfield is one of Cambridgeshire’s six area special schools, and is based near the centre of Ely on a site co-located with mainstream secondary and primary schools. Pupils benefit from having good access to local facilities including the Paradise Pool and Ely Cathedral. Highfield School is part of the Ely Schools Partnership which links primary and secondary schools from Ely and the surrounding area.

We have around 100 pupils on roll from Early Years to the end of our Leavers department. We aim for pupils to have a real sense of progression through the school and each key stage represents this with the curriculum they provide their pupils. Pupils with sensory learning needs have some discrete learning sessions with other pupils with similar needs across the school.

We aim that the website is useful, informative and interesting and it is constantly being updated. We hope you enjoy using it and I look forward to seeing you at Highfield.  If you would like a paper copy of any of the information contained on our school’s website please contact us and this will be available free of charge.
